About Mental Health

Every year an estimated 1 in 4 people in the U K will experience a mental health problem such as anxiety, or depression. An estimated one in 200 adults will experience a severe and enduring mental health problem like schizophrenia or bi-polar affective disorder.
It is important not to make assumptions about people suffering mental distress: each person’s experience of mental health difficulties is unique. However mental ill health carries a stigma with it and people experiencing it often face ill-informed comment and discrimination.
Sometimes being labelled as having a mental health issue can cause the most damage. A person may become known as a "schizophrenic" or a "manic depressive" rather than who they are as a parent, partner, or friend. Often stigma and fear leads people to hide their condition or delay seeking help.
At MHNE Training we tackle this stigma by helping employers, managers and work colleagues understand more about mental health problems and the realities of living with them.
Supporting your entire workforce to be mentally healthy will help them and your business - by improving productivity and reducing absenteeism.
