MHNE Training is the training arm of Mental Health North East, a charity that works to improve and protect mental health services in the region.
Our aim: to educate and inform employers and staff about mental health. Mental health problems affect 1 in 4 people each year* so most employers can expect to encounter the issue at some point.
Mental Health Training
Our training helps build understanding and awareness of mental health so that employers:
- can spot the early warning signs;
- are comfortable talking to people about mental health issues;
- know how to manage staff mental health appropriately;
- and can signpost people to additional support if it’s needed.
Our courses are designed and delivered by a highly experienced team with hands-on experience of working with people with mental health issues.
We start from the perspective of mental health rather than ill health and look at ways that people can keep mentally healthy.
Our emphasis is on positive, practical ways that employers can help and support their staff. Our courses all involve people with lived experience of mental illness who provide valuable first-hand experience.
The sessions are lively and interactive. Participants get the chance to work with each other - sharing and learning from experiences.
All of the profits from our training are used to support the work of MHNE.
